History

Ingle has been a trusted name in the insurance industry since 1946, when John and Muriel Ingle first founded John Ingle Insurance as a family business. The Ingles were selling basic health and accident insurance when they noticed that there was no adequate health insurance for new arrivals to Canada. Recognizing a gap in the market, they soon began providing insurance coverage, as well as housing and employment information to this growing group of customers.
Government departments and ministries took notice of the unique service that the Ingles provided and asked them to help develop insurance plans for new arrivals to Canada and Canadians travelling abroad. The plans that the Ingles developed gave people health coverage where government programs fell short (considered “special risk” at the time) and served as the prototypes for travel health insurance in Canada.
John Ingle Insurance grew and opened offices across Canada. Their business model incorporated innovation and technology early on, providing toll-free telephone access when it was still quite new. They also focused on the specific customer-service needs of their client base, offering multilingual print material and bilingual customer service.
Robin Ingle joined the family business in 1975 and took over as President in 1985. In 2001, Robin Ingle founded Imagine Financial, a Managing General Agent (MGA) that provides insurance products to agents, brokers, and individual clients across Canada.
Today, Ingle International works with agents and insurance providers across Canada and worldwide to offer a full range of insurance products and services, including travel, health and life insurance, as well as special risk products. By providing access to insurance products and services to suit the needs and budget of our customers, Ingle International and its partners can provide the right coverage for anyone going anywhere in the world.
